1. Any type of jewelry

Physical activities

We recommend removing your jewelry during strenuous activities such as sports, weightlifting, or gardening. Minor scratches are normal with everyday use, but hard surfaces and sudden movements can cause deep scratches or deformation.

Water

Take off your jewelry before showering or swimming. Water—and especially chlorinated or saltwater—can slightly damage the finish (polished or matte) of gold and silver.

Chemicals

Do not wear your jewelry while cleaning or applying lotions, perfumes, or hair products. Chemicals can cause discoloration. Allow skincare products to fully absorb before putting your jewelry back on.

Sleeping

We recommend taking off your rings and jewelry before going to bed. While you sleep, they can bend or get damaged, causing unnecessary wear and tear.

Store safely

Store your jewelry in its original box when you're not wearing it. This will protect it from dust, moisture, and discoloration, and prevent the pieces from scratching each other.

An Overview of Diamond Rings and How to Care for Them

Wearing rings together

Do not wear rings with diamonds or gemstones set in prongs or side settings together with other rings. The constant friction can cause the metal to wear down, and stones may become loose over time.

Sleeping

Dust acts as a kind of fine abrasive on the settings—the metal parts that hold the stone in place. Over time, this can cause them to weaken and hold the stone less securely, which can lead to the stone falling out.

Regular self-checks

We recommend checking your jewelry every few weeks. You can gently run your fingernail or a soft cloth over the stone to see if everything is still secure. If you notice anything unusual, please stop wearing the piece and feel free to bring it to our studio for an inspection and reinforcement.

Annual professional inspection (important for the warranty)

Have jewelry with diamonds or gemstones—especially rings—inspected by us annually. This is included in our service and is necessary to maintain the warranty. This allows us to check that everything is still securely fastened, and your jewelry will receive a thorough cleaning right away, restoring its original shine or matte finish.
